Brandon T. Whitehurst, is Pastor and Founder of Faith Tabernacle Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He is a native of Greenville, South Carolina. Whitehurst is a graduate of Lander University, where he majored in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice.
He also earned a Masters of Divinity from Lenoir-Rhyne School of Theology-Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina.
Pastor Whitehurst began ministering the word of God at the age of 14. He was licensed and ordained by his grandfather, Dr. Virgil L. Sullivan Sr., Pastor of Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church Greenville, South Carolina.
Whitehurst is a community advocate for “Hold Out the Life Line,” a mission to families that encourages physical health. In addition, he is also a member of the Southern Christian Leaders Conference, NAACP, the Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc., and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Pastor Whitehurst also serves as an Overseer in the Restoration Fellowship,Bishop Waylyn Hobbs Jr. Presiding Prelate.
He is married to the former Brenda Hughes of Greenwood, South Carolina.
Whitehurst, is often referred to as “one who tells it like it is” and he lives strongly by Romans 1:16, “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.”
Pastor Whitehurst preaches and teaches, “If God isn’t ashamed of me then why should I be ashamed of God.”
